A milder and sweeter version of the cappuccino, containing more milk, it consists of one espresso shot and foamed milk (or milk and cream). The cream should sit less than 1 cm deep. It is served hot (60°C-65°C), either with a white circle of milk in the centre of the beverage or with latte art on the top layer of foam. The word "latte" means "milk" in Italian.
